Welcome to Jonesburg Elementary

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Jonesburg Elementary School, home of the Wildcats! We pride ourselves on being a close school community that fosters good character and academic excellence. As a member of the JBE family, not only will your student learn how to read, write, and solve mathematical problems, they will also learn how to think critically. Our teachers are dedicated to developing future leaders that can think independently with competence and confidence that will allow them to achieve goals beyond their wildest dreams.

I am excited to enter my second year as Principal of Jonesburg Elementary.  Last year was an awesome year and I learned so much about our Jonesburg Elementary family.  I am thrilled to be back and continue chasing goals with our students and staff. A little bit about myself for those of you that do not know me; I was born and raised in Montgomery County, am a graduate of MCHS, I currently reside in Montgomery County, and I am entering my thirteenth year as a faculty member in our district.  I take great pride in being a Wildcat! I love education and am excited to learn and grow alongside our students and staff at Jonesburg Elementary. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Business & Public Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Agricultural Economics. After working a few years in the business world, I discovered my true calling, helping students learn and achieve their goals.  It is truly a gift to be able to spend my career helping mold the future. I went back to school to become a teacher and have since earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching and Masters of Arts in School Administration, both from Lindenwood University. It is an honor to get to serve the students, staff and community connected to Jonesburg Elementary. I can’t wait to connect or reconnect with every student and support their educational journey.

Throughout the year we will continue to use the Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) program we will set a universal expectation and language that will create a learning environment for your student to grow both personally and academically.  At Jonesburg Elementary we focus on practicing the 5 Be’s: Be Kind, Be Cooperative, Be Responsible, Be Safe, & Be Respectful.

This year we will continue with the fish theme and will highlight the books “Only One You” and “You Be You” throughout the year.  As you can probably tell from the titles, the books are about embracing the thought of being uniquely you. My favorite quote from “Only One You” is, “There is only one you in this great big world.”  We will support this theme throughout the year.

The role of you, the parent, is a vital piece of our puzzle. It is critical that the relationship between school and home is strong and productive. Consistent and positive communication is crucial in helping your student reach and exceed their highest potential. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an excellent way to help foster that relationship and it would provide you with many opportunities to have a greater influence on your student’s education. It doesn’t matter if you can help a lot or a little because any amount of time will help. If you are interested in this organization please do not hesitate to call the office and we will share your interest with our PTO officers.

The 2018-2019 school year will bring the opportunity for growth and learning. I am excited to greet our returning students, to welcome our new faces and eager to continue our education journey together at Jonesburg Elementary. I believe that JBE is an outstanding school with a close supportive staff and community. Together our focus will be on student learning, critical thinking, and character education to help build today for a successful tomorrow.

Yours in Education,

Jennifer Krattli
